Below you will find some information about the conference procedures:
Registration and Welcome Desk
There is no registration as there is at conventional conferences in attendance. However, we offer a virtual reception for all questions about the conference, which will be staffed throughout the conference. You can reach us via Zoom or in Gather.town as well as by phone (+49 (0)951 863-3543) and e-mail (gebf2022@lifbi.de).
Lecture platform Zoom
The keynotes take place in Zoom and are accessible without a password. The sessions are only open to registered participants and are therefore password protected. The password will be made available to participants shortly before the conference. All links can be accessed via ConfTool or the program booklet (coming soon).
Virtual conference venue Gather.town and social programme
Throughout the conference, the virtual conference venue “Gather.town” will be open, which is intended to provide - at least to some extent - the conference atmosphere of a face-to-face event. The postersession and the social evening will also take place there. Due to capacity constraints, there are two worlds, each allowing up to 500 people - links can be found in the program booklet. A quick guide with FAQ can be found here as PDF. Both are currently only available in German.
On all three conference days, there will be a Guided city tour of Bamberg by Zoom. The tours are open to all registered participants free of charge.
Information for sessions from individual contributions
-
One presenter of the first paper of each session has been appointed as Chair. The Chair will act as moderator for the session.
-
The sessions last 105 minutes each and usually include four contributions. Therefore, each contribution has 15 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for questions and discussion. Contributions will be discussed immediately following the presentation.
-
During each session, an assistant from the organizing team will be on hand to help with technical questions and problems. He/she will also take the time to signal to the presenters how much speaking time is left.
Information for symposia, workshops and open contribution formats.
-
Symposia, workshops, and open contribution formats are organized independently by the respective Chair. The Chair communicates the modalities of the presentations and the schedule to the contributors well in advance.
-
In the symposia, the presentation time for the individual contributions should also be 15 minutes, if possible, followed by time for questions from the audience.
-
During each session, an aide from the organizing team will be present to help with technical questions and problems. She will also take the time to signal to the presenters how much speaking time is left.
Information about the poster session
Notes on the poster session procedures can be found here.

The social evening will be open to all conference participants this year. The opening will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022, 7:00pm to 7:30pm via Zoom, followed by the convivial part of the evening in Gather.town.
